Pokémon HOME and Pokémon GO can now link

I haven’t played Pokémon Go in quite a while, but for those of you who are still playing (in this pandemic?), you can now link the cellphone game to Pokémon Home, a multiplatform Pokémon management system that allows you to import Pokémon you have captured from different games into Pokémon games that you’re playing, reducing the time needed to find and capture such Pokémon.

Once you’ve linked them, you’ll be able to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME and, from there, bring them to either the Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game to join your adventure!

You don’t need to be enrolled in a paid Premium Plan for Pokémon HOME in order to link Pokémon GO and Pokémon HOME. All Trainers will eventually be able to link Pokémon HOME and Pokémon GO. This feature will be made available to Trainers over the coming days, starting with those who have higher Trainer levels in Pokémon GO.

In order to bring certain Pokémon caught in Pokémon GO and transferred to Pokémon HOME into Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield, you must either have registered that Pokémon’s species to your Pokédex or have obtained a Pokémon of that species at any point in that game.
